Mad, Mad Alice in Wonderland World

I participated in this months Blissfull ATC Swap...and I'm so glad I did.

The theme this month is Mad, Mad Alice in Wonderland World and I got a fantastic card from my swap partner, Janet Ghio from Janet's Art Play!

Look at how cool this card is:

Created by Janet Ghio

Along with the ATC she sent she also included some fun elements I plan to incorporate into a journal spread, when I find more time, of course!

....and here is the card I sent her.

Originally it was this one, which I liked:

Created by Leila West / Artsy Creations

....But then it wasn't "Mad" enough for me so I made her a different one:

Created by Leila West / Artsy Creations

I really liked both and was going to keep the first one, but where's the fun in that?
So I decided to send her both cards plus a 5x7 print as a surprise.  :-)

This is the print I sent her (I think, can't remember now, lol, minus the frame of course):

So glad she received my package and likes it.  :-)

Hope all is well on your end of the world.

Blissful ATC Swap Challenge - Love

I participated in Februarys Blissful ATC Swap

The Theme was "Love."

My partner Terri over at Paint N Thread sent me this beautiful pink love filled card:

....and this is the one I sent her:

I've really enjoyed making ATCs and trading with partners.  It's been a lot of fun wondering what they put together and it's always such a fun surprise when they arrive.

Unfortunately I have to skip March's trade, this class is kicking my behind...but it ends at the end of March and I will finally get my grade to see if I pass.  If I pass, then yay, I make it into the LVN course (mentioned in previous post)...if not, well, then the new job hunt begins....at least until I can take this class over and see if I can go after my end goal.  Either way, it'll be a new beginning and lordy I can't wait...

Until we meet again.

xoxo.

Blissful ATC Swap Challenge - White/Snow

This months theme over at Blissfull ATC Swap is "White/Snow."

My partner for this month is Laura over at The Uncommon Artist.

This is the card she sent me in the trade.
Not sure if you can tell from the picture, but she added just a hint of sparkles that make the snow glitter like it does in the sun light.  Her imagery made me want to jump in and start a warm fire and gaze out the window at the falling snow.  Just love it.  :-)

...and here is the card I sent her.
I'm glad she likes it.  :-)

Angel - Blissfull ATC Swap

This months theme at Blissfull ATC swap is "Angels."

Below is the beautiful original Anita over at ASE Keepin' Creative sent me.

She also sent me this beautiful Christmas card.  :-)

Here's the one I sent her...and I used a LOT of glitter...cus I like SPARKLES, yay!!

I also frayed and tinted the edges to make it look (hopefully) like an old scroll.
A new method for me and I liked the end result.  :-)

....and as you can see...it really sparkles in the light, lol.
I did go over it to try and seal it and keep loose sparkles to a minimum.

Thanks for looking, Merry Christmas!

Blissful ATC Swap Challenge - Open Theme

This month we had an open theme for our swap partners over at Blissfull ATC Swap.

My swap partner for this month is Patti over at Treasure Barn.

She sent me this cute little girl ATC and fabulous extras:

The ATC I sent her is below.  I played with a stamp on canvas paper and then collaged everything on to my ATC background.  I was really happy with the outcome and I'm glad she likes it.  :-)

Thanks for looking!

Blissful ATC Swap Challenge - Dark

Well, it's that time again!
October's theme at Blissful ATC Swap is "Dark."

My fabulous ATC swap partner is Angela (Sew Loquacious) for this month and she sent me this ultra creepy ATC from HELL!  How fantastic and dark is this?!?!  She used a small portion of the the right panel from Hieronymous Bosch's Garden Of Earthly Delights.

I was super excited to see what she came up with and was quite pleased with her ATC that arrived in the mail.  It looks fantastic (and super DARK!) in person.

Check out her ATC front and back below:

Below is the ATC I sent Angela.  To be honest, I was totally stumped with the theme, I had NO idea what to do and started off thinking of Halloween and black cats, then black cats in a witch's hat...then thought there's no way a cat is scary or dark (other than black fur being "dark"), so I totally scrapped that idea and put my thinking cap on.  After a couple days of thinking I finally came up with this and was quite happy with it...and I got the sweetest message from Angela.  I'm so glad she likes it.  :-)

All items are collaged on to the card.
The girl, head, and house is from Itkullipi and modified by me to create the "dark" effect.
The moon in the corner is a trinket I glued on.
The blue sparkly at the bottom is a ribbon I recycled.

Blissful ATC Swap Challenge - Leaves

My swap partner this month is Donna. She sent me a beautiful ATC for the Blissful ATC Swap challenge. She even wrapped my package in wrapping paper printed with leaves. How clever was that? HAHA

The leafy man is just so cute, I love the colors used (purple and green, my fav!), and the texture of the cloth used really creates the stunning piece.  Absolutely love it!

Along with the beautiful stitched ATC she sent along some fun little goodies. Mine pales in comparison, but I hope she likes!

Here's the one I sent her. :-)  Can't see it in the picture, but there's glitter on the side to add some sparkle.  Not sure what it is, but I really love glitter right now, lol.

Since she was out of town I decided to wait a couple days before posting mine.  Hopefully she's received it now, I didn't want to ruin the surprise by her seeing it online first.  ;-)

Thems the rules, hehe!

Blissful ATC Swap Box Challenge - PLEASE VOTE FOR ME :-)

Here is my ATC box holder....finished in the 11th hour, LOL.

The challenge over at Blissful ATC Swap was to create some kind of holder that you can keep your ATC's in.  I'm quite happy with mine and am super psyched to have a safe place to keep my ATC's.

I'm also very happy because this is the first Acrylic/Mixed Media piece I've actually finished.

We're also having a vote for the favorite, so if you could do me a tiny little favor and vote for mine I would be super appreciative!

Voting starts on Monday 9/20/10 and the winner will be announced on 9/23/10.
Please go over to Blissful ATC Swap site and email Blissfullatcswap@gmail.com to vote.

Thanks so much!!

IS IT CHRISTMAS?!?!?! Nope, It's Blissfull ATC Swap Orange Challenge!

Well well well......what came in the mail for me today?

Ohhh....I spy a package!  YAY!!

Nope, it's not Christmas, I got my swapped ATC from Leslie over at Junkgirl Studio.

Wanna see???  How fabulous is this?

She even wrapped it like it was a Christmas present!

I was hesitant to take it apart, but super giddy to see what was beneath the lace, I felt like a kid all over again!

...and look, so pretty!  I love the use of glitter (and I do love me some sparkle!) and was pleasantly suprised at the little butterfly child.  Totally adorable.

It's hard to see by the picture, but hers is 3D.  :-)  The little boy is lifted up a bit and the flower sticks out, hard to describe, but the added 3D effect gives it lots of dimension.

Wanna see the back?

I love how Leslie incorporated the use of the dictionary meaning.  Out of complete curiosity I had the urge to compare to the dictionary I have on hand...  Very different definitions!  Interesting to see how our language has changed, lol.

Leslie was super sweet and even provided a few little extras!

I can't wait to alter and somehow turn in to art!   :-)

Below is the ATC I sent her.  It's the first one I've ever done, but I must say, I had fun creating it.

There's plenty of time to join in on the next challenge.  Head on over to Bissfull ATC Swap, next challenge is leaves!
